Carl, please excuse the somewhat late reply. As I said in the article, I'm not a gamer. But gaming on the Chromebook means first and foremost: cloud gaming. I'll quote Google itself here:

Cloud Gaming Chromebooks support two major cloud gaming platforms: NVIDIA GeForce NOW and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Any cloud game that works on these platforms can also be played on Cloud Gaming Chromebooks. This includes games like Fortnite, The Witcher 3, Halo Infinite and many more.

Another option is to install Steam on the Chromebook. Google has been working on its own container for this for a long time - but so far you still have to switch to the Chrome OS beta channel to use it, which is not difficult.
